In March 2014 the European Commission published the finalised consensus document on an EU Education and Training Framework to meet the requirements of 2010/63/EU. The symposium will examine in depth the impact of the new requirements on the design and delivery of Laboratory Animal Science courses.

Recipients: | The document, which was endorsed by all National Competent Authorities, is the culmination of more than two years work by an Expert Working Group and aims to provide guidance to Member States in the transposition and implementation of national legal provisions. |
Contents: | Presentations will address the requirements for supervision and assessment of competence of students. Of particular importance will be discussion on procedures to ensure a quality standard in Europe. The experiences of representatives from some European countries will also assist in clarifying issues that need further consideration. A round table will allow participants to interact with colleagues and speakers and to obtain information and ideas on how to implement the education and training framework in their countries. |
