International Workshop "The emerging field of microbiota and its effects on animal models"

Gut microbiota is an assortment of microorganisms inhabiting the mammalian gastrointestinal tract.

Recent studies have shown that the gut microbiota of laboratory rodents, including genetically altered rodents, displays a huge variety in composition.

In addition, it is involved in numerous aspects of normal animal physiology and can also contribute in the development of many diseases.
