Training initiatives

The Guido Bernardini Fondazione is aware of the users' need to continue specific training beyond initial qualifications to maintain, upgrade and update skills throughout their working lives.
We have, therefore, developed a complete training package to satisfy all the needs of the various categories of users, offering a variety of training venues tailored to meet user needs. Our educational programs are open to all those working in Animal Labs and their team members. Animal Lab professionals are encouraged to co-operate with our Scientific Committee in order to design specific professional development paths.

Wide range of courses held by highly qualified, experienced trainers

The training team is composed of a body of professionals including Facility Managers, Laboratory Animal Science Specialists, Veterinarians, Engineers and Architects experienced in Laboratory Animal Facility requirements, Quality Control Engineers and lay-outing and operations Experts so as to offer a broad training syllabus exclusively designed for all those involved in the laboratory animal field.

The syllabus aims to:

  • Create awareness of the latest innovations related to Animal Lab science
  • Impart and develop knowledge, skills, and competencies
  • Build and reinforce core competencies
  • Allow attendees to gain hands-on experience of animal lab equipment
  • Set up live, on-line training sessions using state-of-the art communications technologies

We offer a comprehensive range of training courses in a very well established Research Institute in Milan for Laboratory Animal workers, focusing on those areas where we feel we can make unique and positive contributions. The host Institute is a high level international research centre with state-of-the-art facilities including a large vivarium with a total capacity of more than 10,000 IVC cages. The high professional level of their laboratory animal workers ensures a top-grade, health-conscious environment. We also have the availability of a modern Congress Centre, 5 rooms equipped with advanced technological supports capable of hosting from 15 to 100 participants, in order to put on Symposia and Meetings covering a variety of themes, and welcome people who share our commitment. Among other topics, these include general facility management and the diffusion of information for the improvement of animal health and welfare, leading to more reliable research results, and implementing safe working practices.

We are confident that this first series of courses will cover a good number of our participants’ needs, and we invite you to visit our Website regularly to be informed of the latest offerings.

Training programs are updated each year with new contents, following technological developments and the ever-changing needs of prospective attendees.

In each training course participants learn the latest concepts, sharing experiences and contributing to the scientific growth of the group. Conference participants, representing some of largest and fastest growing international facilities and institutions, are encouraged to engage in discussions and respond to questions posed by peers concerning the pros and cons of various practices in using the products, procedures and policies.

Each participant receives a diploma certifying the successful completion of the training provided.

We are working hard to meet the needs and contribute to the progress of Laboratory Animal Science, but we are counting on your remarks, suggestions and experience to help us broaden our offerings in this field.
