LAC Home The Leonardo Technology Forum brings together an exclusive community of users, moved by a common passion for technology and a strong belief in automation as a form of innovation, sustained by a personal flair for creativity and the ability to think “outside the box”.

This is a common value to be found in all the wonderful ideas that Leonardo developed into a collection of machines that gave a powerful thrust to the evolution of the society in which we live.

Leonardo da Vinci

(Vinci 15 April 1452 - Amboise 2 May 1519)

Was a great artist and scientist whose all-embracing genius is recognised and revered everywhere.

"No human enquiry is to be considered true science if it is not mathematically proven"

The laws governing nature are espressed through mathematics: these words of Leonardo express the very essence of his logic, which led him to conceive: the first parachute, the first submarine, the first bicycle, the first helicopter, the first aeroplane, the first automobile, the first concept of solar energy to heat water - not to mention his many inventions in the military field.

The quotation helps us to appreciate that Leonardo was very close to the mathematics of automation, and were he here with us today and able to observe the evolution that technology has undergone, his would undoubtedly be one of the most precious minds committed to automation.
